Where's the trust?

Yesterday I picked up Ben from the child care facility in the building where I work - and as I was leaving a young boy and his father were coming in the fron t door. As soon as the boy looked down the hallway at the rows of doors, he froze and his eyes got as big as saucers. The following conversation then took place:

Boy: "I don't want to go to the doctors!"
Dad (laughing): "This isn't the doctors office. "
Boy: "Yes it is. You're trying to trick me."
Dad: (laughing and speechless)

I was cracking up dude. Where's the trust? Sheesh.

WTF?

What the hell is going on? Mel Gibson has a drinking problem and a potty mouth. What's next? Cats and dogs flying? I feel like my whole world is out of whack. I was reading through the police report and actually laughing out loud. The officer was actually quoting Gibson. Some of the best were, "I own Malibu" and "I'm going to f@ck you". Okay Mel. It sounded like the officer was giving him every consideration including attempting to let Gibson in the car without handcuffing him. Unfortunately, this still wasn't acceptable and Mel tried to run. It's unbelievable just how fast Ben is growing. I feel like I blink and he's grown another inch. Of course...that's another inch wider, not longer. He's getting so round...=) Thank goodness though because he was so thin. And how about that GI Joe outfit folks? That's a daddy special there boy. Too cute.

It doesn't get any better than this. I love feeding my son and having him look up at me with so much trust in his eyes. It makes me smile every time. I guess I was too young with my first son to appreciate all this. Too worried about money, my job, and life in general to really take it all in. After all.....how often is it that any of us have someone trusting us and needing us so completely in life. Believe me....I won't be missing a minute of this.
